I had just bought a brand new kodak m340 digital camera, Its only a month old. The lens is stuck open, When I try to turn it on the lens will close, then open again, than beep twice. Nothing shows up on the screen. I have now idea how to fix it, any ideas?

Anyhow what can I say Kodak and "my lens is stuck" is pretty common around here. Kodak doesn't makes good quality cameras and a stuck lens is very common you should be able to replace it under warantee IF you haven't let it fall. It usually happens when it falls!

digital compact, with shutter and aperture priority?
I want a pocket sized camera to augment my dslr, that has some of the abilities, namely shutter and aperture priority. My Girlfriend has an older canon compact that has this, a A520 and I've looked on ebay at older cameras, namely the Sony DSC-V1 and DSC-V3, but I'd prefer a newer camera.
I really don't want to spend loads, the guy in my local camera shop recommended a Sigma DP2, but I'd rather spend that on a lense for my main camera. I want a snapper with some creative headroom. My photography most takes place in some of the more chance-y areas of town, so theft is very likely, so again, cost is a consideration.
Any ideas? Recommendations?

I just purchased a Panasonic SDR-H40 camcorder and everything is ok, but the only thing I am missing is I can't download any video to my Mac. I guess the problem is Mac does not support MPEG2 video. Does anyone know how what I need to do in order to get my Mac to read these MPEG2 files?
Things You'll Need: USB, 4-pin to 6-pin firmware cable Mac computer (OS X or later) iMovie software (version 4.0 or later)
Step 1: Open iMovie (included with all Mac's and designated by a camcorder icon on the computer's desktop) or your preferred video editing program.
Step 2: Connect your camcorder to your computer through the USB or firmware port on your computer. Older camcorders will typically use firmware while more recent camcorders typically use USB 2.0. Your camcorder will come with the appropriate cable to connect it.
Step 3: Put your camcorder in "play" mode. The switch on your camcorder should be directly beside where you power it on to record videos.
Step 4: Power the camcorder on.
Step 5: Press the "Import" button that appears on your computer's screen within the video editing program. Your Sony camcorder should start playing your video and importing it onto your computer. If the video does not start importing, press the play button on your camcorder to initiate the video capture.
If the camcorder records standard definition MPEG-2 files(sometimes with MOD or TOD extension),you need to convert them to mp4 or mov that iMovie can deal with. iOrgSoft video converter for mac can do the conversion. Both are probably great cameras, and good brands. I've always been a Canon person myself. I have a few Canon camcorders, and worked with many more, and they are pretty trustworthy. I compared the two on cnet.com, and they're pretty similar in many ways; except I think the HF10 has a slightly larger optical sensor.
I myself would chose the Canon, but I'm sure you'll be happy with either one.

have two cams which I want to put on eBay. This are not mine but came to me for sales. The first one is Pentax Kx and the other one is Sony Alpha 550. They both support the usb technology which is easy to configure and install. I will go for LG. As I have one the data speed is fast and it is reliable. The most important thing to check is the durability. And the same found proper in it. They have similar specifications and easy to use.

I am about to buy a digital camera.
